20 year old centre back, Xavier Benjamin joined the club on 1st February 2024 on loan from Cardiff City until end of the season. He made his starting debut in the home defeat to Morton on Saturday 3rd February 2024 and scored in the Championship match away to Partick Thistle on 23rd February.
Xavier started in the Fulham youth system and played 27 times in the U18 Premier League before at the age of 18 making the switch to the Cardiff City Academy in June 2022.
The defender made an impact on joining Darren Purse`s young U21 side, he quickly took on the captain`s armband and led by example. A commanding presence in the Bluebirds` backline, Xavier was named Cardiff City FC Academy Player of the Season in April 2023.
Xavier who has dual nationality English/ Jamaican, has played for Cardiff this season in the EFL Cup and on 6th January this year he started against Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup.
