News | Derby crowd set to be largest for a decade

Sunday, 5th Mar 2023

The League One match against Falkirk is set to be the largest league attendance of the last decade at KDM Group East End Park. Turnstiles are open from 6.45pm, please arrive early.

With two more days to go, ticket sales have just hit 8100 and exceed the last league big crowd, 7624 when Hibs visited in October 2016.

Manager James McPake is hoping to take full advantage of the sizeable backing that his team will have. He believes that his players can take added energy from the enthusiastic supporters.

The last crowd of over 8000 was against Hearts in the 2018 League Cup. That day 4660 away fans helped take the total to 8601.

The last league match to top 8000 was against Rangers on 30th December 2013 when the crowd numbered 9346.

The best home attendance this season was 6670 when Falkirk were the visitors in September and the Pars biggest attendance so far this season was the derby away to Falkirk in November. A travelling support of 1976 boosted the total to 7279 that day.

It will be first v second on Tuesday night and some tickets are still left for the McCathie Stand so there is still the opportunity for those who have not yet purchased their tickets to get along to KDM Group East End Park for what should be a great encounter with a fantastic atmosphere under the lights.
